Two wheels and no motor
We decided to do a bicycle tour of Marrakech today. The tour included a visit to the inner workings of a hammam and a local bakery where locals bring their dough and have the baker bake the bread in his oven for them. We also learned that the orange trees which line many streets aren’t actually orange trees. The fruit looks like oranges, but is actually very sour and useful only as an ingredient in henna. Makes sense – if they were oranges they’d all get picked and then you’d just have trees.
We wound our way through the Jewish Quarter, through markets and along streets in affluent and more modest neighbourhoods. It was a great way to see more of the city.
We recommend Pikala for a bike tour of the city.
