Think Michaelangelo. It couldn’t be easier to remember our names!

Michael

First time on two wheels

While living in Switzerland on a student exchange during his last year of high school, Michael made use of the host family’s moped, and a love of both travel and moving about on two wheels was born. His Swiss host mom once asked him what he wanted to do with his life, and he replied, “have fun and do good”.

Upon returning to Canada, Michael immediately obtained his motorcycle license and bought his first bike, a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 400. Over the next few decades, Michael lived in six countries and had adventures in over 40 more on six continents, including volunteering at orphanages in Mexico and Bolivia, and serving as Director of a Pathfinders youth group for eight years.

A busy career

Committed to his Christian faith and the goal of having fun and doing good, he and Angela began developing the idea that would become the Twonie Project as Michael approached his retirement from a fulfilling career as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Angela spent much of her childhood on a dairy farm on Vancouver Island, and was introduced to dirt bikes at an early age. She obtained her motorcycle license as a 16 year old and bought her first street bike shortly after.  Studying Commerce at college led to forging ahead in the world of international shipping, commuting on and logging track time with super sport motorcycles.

Switching gears, she completed a successful career in real estate development, slaking her thirst for travel by visiting over 20 countries. Committed to her Christian faith, she has worked with her church youth group, and is excited to travel the world and help to meet needs along the way.
