Rabat repairs
Today we left Rabat. We shouldn’t have – the itinerary had us stay two nights in Rabat, but somebody didn’t look at the itinerary (me!). Sigh.We rose this morning and I headed out to exchange money and get sim cards for the phones, both of which were easy tasks, although now we are walking around with an inch thick stack of scooby bucks each.
Then I had to conduct some repairs to my bike. My chain is not in great shape. There are a couple of tight spots, and it was far too loose. We couldn’t find the Yamaha dealership shown on Google Maps, but we did find a Renault dealership and a mechanic who was willing to loan me the four wrenches I needed for the task. He wouldn’t take any money, but we left him with a Canadian flag pin.
We rode the coastal path from Rabat to Casablanca, and it was a nice leisurely 100 km. We arrived into Casablanca at rush hour, and failed to arrive at the Hassan II mosque before it closed for tourists. Fortunately, we now have an extra day in the schedule, so we will visit it tomorrow.
This evening we went out for dinner at a restaurant that had many vegan options, including a tagine. Mmm! Looking forward to doing that again! Tomatoey and flavourful.
