Things we enjoyed:
Apaneca – Cafe Albania great little extreme activity park; be sure to eat the best pupusas at Pupuseria Vicky
Juayua – awesome food festival every Sat/Sun
Ruta de las Flores – a little overhyped, but not a terrible ride
Santa Ana – the hike up the volcano is not a difficult one, and offers great views
Hwy 2 (Pacific Coast) – eastbound to La Libertad is a great ride (road with several tunnels)
San Salvador
– “The Little Prince” Theme Park is pretty neat if you are a fan of the book
– Picnic Steak House – don’t need to visit if you did the (better) slide at Cafe Albania
– El Boqueron National Park – tremendous views of the volcano’s crater
– Church of the Rosary – interesting design; worth seeing if you’re going to be in the area
Joya de Ceren Archeological Park – is not super impressive as far as ruins go, but it’s a very important site and worth a visit if you like that sort of thing
Suchitodo – Arte Anil is a shop where you can learn all about, and try your hand at, dyeing with indigo
